November Wildlife Events

Join us for two upcoming opportunities to learn about the wildlife of Four Mile Run.

White-tailed Deer in Northern Virginia, 7pm Monday, November 9: In this presentation, learn about the impact of a growing deer population, and what it means for our parks, forests, and neighborhood. Master naturalist co-presenters Bill Browning and Marion Jordan will talk about the implications of continuing to ignore the increase in number of deer in Northern Virginia, and about how some of our neighboring jurisdictions have chosen to approach the problem. Register here for this free event.

Fall Hawk Walk, 10am Sunday, November 22: Join us for an outing in Four Mile Run Park, as we look for migrating hawks and other wild residents of the natural areas of the park. Binoculars/field guides optional, but a sense of wonder & curiosity, as well as warm outerwear, are essential! RSVP appreciated, though not required. Walk starts at the Four Mile Run Farmers & Artisans Market (next to 4109 Mount Vernon Avenue).
