Wednesday, April 15 is Alexandria's giving day to support non-profit organizations working in our community, and early giving is already underway. This year the Spring2ACTion date was changed to two weeks earlier in order to respond to the urgent needs of non-profits during the COVID-19 crisis. We encourage you to contribute to the local organizations that support community health and wellness, including our own. Visit www.spring2action.org on or before April 15 to make a contribution, or to start your own fund drive for a Spring2ACTion cause.
If you are among the many who have visited during this time of social distancing outside the home, you can appreciate the value and importance of the nearby nature we enjoy at Four Mile Run Park, as well as the park amenities that make recreation safe and accessible. You can help enhance access to the water by making a contribution toward our Four Mile Run Water Access Point project, an ADA-accessible floating launch for kayaks, canoes, and other non-motorized watercraft. If you haven't given already, Spring2ACTion is your chance, and your donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar. And if we receive support from at least 15 donors during Spring2ACTion, we will receive an additional $500 through a challenge grant by the Eshom n' Wilhelm Family Foundation!
Additional information on the project is available in the information packet/flyer.
